Detectives with the Central Patrol Division and the Special Investigations Unit launched an aggressive and exhaustive investigation, with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Investigators recovered more than 100 shell casings near the scene. During the investigation, detectives learned that AlarconSanchez had been arrested by the Grand Prairie Police Department for a similar offense in their city during the early morning hours of January 1, 2026. As the investigation continued, detectives uncovered evidence linking 25-year-old Anderson Derce Lara to a separate road-rage shooting in November. In that incident, Derce Lara fired multiple rounds into a vehicle occupied by three adults and three children. With assistance from the ATF, investigators executed a search warrant and recovered multiple firearms, including the rifles seen in the social media video. Acevedo and AlarconSanchez are charged with Discharge of a Firearm in Certain Municipalities, a Class A misdemeanor.
