SOP - yawn Lincoln was deployed to replace the Nimitz in the western Pacific ... currently near Taiwan.. Washington and Tripoli are near Japan. This was standard deploy from December - not a reaction to the PRC exercise.

Tensions rising

@Recon_surv Can't believe this

Good - let US-style Rules Based Order around Taiwan begin…

US deploys carrier strike groups near Taiwan

Sending a "legacy flotilla" from thousands of miles away hardly masks the shifting balance of power. Deploying outdated carriers to patrol waters far from home only highlights a desperate attempt to project relevance. Meanwhile, China conducts live-fire exercises on its doorstep, showcasing precision and proximity. This isn't deterrence—it's delusion. The U.S. scrambles to maintain a presence, while China's military grows stronger, more advanced, and strategically positioned. Every port visit and patrol screams insecurity, a fading superpower clinging to the past. The Indo-Pacific isn't just shifting; it's slipping away, and no amount of naval posturing can hide the truth: China is ascending, while the U.S. scrambles to keep up. This is classic deterrence signaling. By moving carrier strike groups into the region while China runs live-fire drills around Taiwan, the United States is showing it won’t cede the Western Pacific by default. Nobody wants a shooting war, but when exercises start resembling blockades, presence becomes the message, and miscalculation risk rises fast.

Two carrier *groups*. Each carrier brings with it a large entourage of ships. So a lot more ships than just the CVs.

In 1995 I was in Taiwan when this occurred. Chinese missile tests and US carriers were sent to the region. I asked my Taiwan associate if we should be concerned. His answer was there wasn’t a run on the banks so it’s not a problem.

2 miles West of Hawaii can be called Western Pacific.

There you go Communist! The USA won’t let you invade Taiwan. Why do you think US sent $11.1 billion of arms to Taiwan?

Warmongering US sending its warships all over the world to create tensions and war

DF-21 would sink those slow ACs. Time has changed.

And nuclear subs hiding deep below the ocean.

US 7th on high alert

你过来呀~ 😂😂😂🫸🫸🫸

Having two carriers deployed in the Pacific is actually normal. The USS George Washington operates out of Japan, and we usually have another carrier somewhere in the region on top of that. Clickbait.

Two carriers signal resolve, but also caution. Washington is showing presence without crossing into mirror escalation during China’s live-fire phase.

China is shaking in fear. LOL

You have bases in okinawa but chose to deploy them so far away in Yokosuka?? Standing with taiwan but standing so far away? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

We should have 4 or 5 Arleigh Burkes as pickets around Taiwan in a continual rotation. And then every now and then have an SSBN/SSGN surface.

I hope they go to war and US loses badly

Turn the Nimitz around and make it three…

Go get them!

Go aheah, US. Let's play. Let's see how your supply chain holds up in a war of attrition thousands of miles away from home.

Can we stop using this shit ass song

You DONT WANT CHINAS SMOKE YALL jus sayin

@grok is that true? will the us help taiwan?

China would sink the carriers in no time. Even the Pentagon has said the same thing.
