“On Sunday, the Chairman of Ahoada West LGA, Eugene Cheta Epelle, came to my house and confronted my mother. He said I was trying to damage his image online because of the video I posted showing the bad condition of a secondary school in Ahoada West. He accused me of insulting his office and then told people to beat me in front of him. If not for people around who stopped them, they would have killed me.” — Winnie Miller, the young lady attacked after sharing photos and videos of a dilapidated secondary school in Ahoada West, Rivers State.

Woke up to this video where armed militants in Ahoada West LGA of Rivers State were calling on Burna Boy to help them speak with the government to grant them amnesty. In exchange, they are ready to lay down their arms under whatever terms and conditions Burna Boy and SOSO Soso Soberekon (White Lion) decide. I will say this: this has never been seen before in Nigeria, where militants are willing to lay down their arms on the terms of a public figure. I will make sure Burna Boy sees this video.

“Anything that makes an outsider come into your community to repair the damage you have done means a lot is wrong. How can someone come to repair your community school and you go and harass the person? Now that someone is ready to renovate the school, you’re not allowing it.” — VeryDarkMan speaking to the spokesperson of the House of Representatives member who halted the school renovation sponsored by Burna Boy.

“I visited my community secondary school and saw how poor the learning environment was. I recorded a video and posted it on social media to seek help, asking people to support the school on Sunday, March 1, 2026. Later that afternoon, the Chairman of Ahoada West LGA, Eugene Cheta Epelle, came to my house and accused me of trying to damage his image online. He warned that he wouldn’t take it lightly and would teach me a lesson. Afterward, he sent his brother, and I was assaulted.” — Winnie Miller, the young lady allegedly attacked after sharing photos and videos of the dilapidated secondary school in Ahoada West.
