Let’s begin with the links for the Media Viability Accelerator video with Samantha Power. First, here’s the Global Democracy Coalition page where I got the video from. And here’s the link to the full video.

I’m tired and forgot to include the transcript for the above video in case you want to read it. Administrator Samantha Power Delivers Remarks at the Launch of the Media Viability Accelerator Recall this program was actually announced at the 2021 Biden Global Summit For Democracy Dec 2021 State Dept Tweet 👇🏻 Dec 9, 2021 Fox News Biden to put US taxpayer money toward international fund for media outlets The White House also announced that, under the plan, USAID would give $5 million to start a new Media Viability Accelerator, to "improve the financial viability of independent media outlets in both under-developed and more-developed media markets."

Here’s the link for the partnership between Newsguard and Microsoft Democracy forward. Please note that Kate O'Sullivan, General Manager of Digital Diplomacy at Microsoft, is also a member of NewsGuard's global advisory board. Aug 2018 Newsguard and Microsoft Defending Democracy partner together: “Today, we are further broadening the work of our Defending Democracy Program by announcing a new partnership with NewsGuard Technologies, which will empower voters by providing them with high-quality information about the integrity and transparency of online news sites.” The Media Viability Accelerator is partnered with Microsoft Democracy Forward: The Media Viability Accelerator (MVA) is a web-based platform that will help independent media become more financially sustainable. Partnering with Microsoft’s Democracy Forward Initiative for leading-edge data aggregation and visualization tools, the MVA will offer the kind of market intelligence that businesses need to be financially successful. “The company (Microsoft) is creating a Democracy Forward Initiative that focuses on promoting public transparency, campaign finance reform, and voting rights.” But here’s a whopper! “Microsoft will suspend its PAC contributions through the 2022 election cycle to members of Congress who voted to object the certification of electors.”

♦️Microsoft discusses the USA and Americans in this article on the Media Viability Accelerator. Recall the State Dept’s USAID is involved in this. This sounds like interference in US journalism to me. Considering it involves pushing out disinfo orgs, this concerns me. “Today, Microsoft, USAID and Internews are announcing a new public-private partnership to develop a Media Viability Accelerator to help independent media outlets around the world become more financially sustainable. However, in recent years, local newspapers and newsrooms have been closing at a staggering rate. Since 2005, the U.S. has lost more than a quarter of its news papers and is on track to lose a third by 2025. Today, over 65 million Americans live in counties with only one local newspaper – or none at all.” ♦️US Senate doc mentions disinfo: “Working with Congress to provide up to $30 million to the International Fund for Public Interest Media (IFPIM) and launching a Media Viability Accelerator to expand access to high-quality local independent media and reduce the impact of disinformation.” ♦️The MVA has had pretty recent activity, here’s a June 2023 article. “Microsoft and Sustainability Development Goals are discussed here in relation to journalism. Also Microsoft’s NEW (2023) Journalism Hub and Media Viability Accelerator will help to support journalism business models To build trust in journalism: We’ve partnered closely with NewsGuard to build its publisher rating tool”

Internews is one of the first 3 major players in the Media Viability Accelerator. It’s strongly focused on disinfo and has 2 headquarters in the USA. 3 main players: 🔹USAID 🔹Microsoft 🔹Internews “At Internews, we believe everyone deserves trustworthy news and information to make informed decisions about their lives and hold power to account. We train journalists and digital rights activists, tackle disinformation, and offer business expertise to help media outlets become financially sustainable. We do all of this in partnership with local communities – who are the people best placed to know what works.” Microsoft is also involved with the Trust Project that Newsguard is partnered with too. The Trust Indicators are what Newsguard actually uses. The Trust Project is funded by 🔸Craig Newmark Philanthropies 🔸Google 🔸 John S. and James L. Knight Foundation 🔸Omidyar Democracy Fund - A Soros Democracy Alliance Aligned Partner Org. 🔸Markkula Foundation. (Will later link thread that references funding.) Article by Ginny Badanes - Senior Director, Microsoft Democracy Forward Initiative: “In 2022, Microsoft increased our investment in our Information Literacy Program, partnering with leading news and media literacy non-profits, including the News Literacy Project (NLP), a collaboration led by The Trust Project on the Trust Indicators and Verified to develop campaigns built on industry research and best practices. Microsoft provided funding for the research and development of the campaigns as well as threat intelligence insights, technical expertise and in-kind ad space on Microsoft platforms to promote the programs.”

Don’t look at the bottom of this post. 🫣 This article has already been linked, but I forgot to mention that this shows the 5 other orgs involved with the Biden admins Media Viability Accelerator that works with Microsoft, Internews, and as a result, Newsguard. Free Press Unlimited, Global Forum for Media Development, IREX, SembraMedia and the Thomson Reuters Foundation. Irex was in the Integrity Initiative leaks. Irex is also involved in Misinfocon in Kyiv. 😏 And Thomas Reuters was in the Zinc Network leaks. Does everyone here remember the Baltic aka Lithuanian elves from my exposé? 😏 Yeah we are getting into some of my heavy exposé stuff that I’ll be expanding on shortly.

Norm Eisen is involved with the Global Coalition for Democracy which does the Biden summit planning. Norm was involved in the, “Reflection on S4D commitments and achievements”, panel. It’s available on video if interested. Global Democracy Coalition, a multi-stakeholder coalition of more than 100 democracy organizations from across the world, convened a Forum on 28 February & 1 March 2023 in preparation for the second Summit for Democracy, co-hosted by the United States, South Korea, Zambia, the Netherlands and Costa Rica on 29 & 30 March. The aim was to provide a space for inclusive dialogue to collectively prepare inputs to inform the Summit discussions, but also to generate collective ideas for a post-Summit process. Specifically, the Forum provided a space to discuss progress on S4D commitment implementation, to take stock of the cohort process and share progress to date, to take collective stock of the state of democracy since the first Summit for Democracy, for GDC partners to make their own commitments to democracy (GDC pledge) and to generate recommendations for the post Summit process.”

Here’s the Newsguard thread that mentions the Trust Project that Microsoft is also involved with. Them both working with the Trust Project makes total sense since Microsoft Defending Democracy was involved with Newsguard early on. And Newsguard used the Trust Projects, Trust Indicators for grading.

Oh and there’s much more. 👇

He got mad at me because I posted a news article on something he already exposed. I remember my own stuff, that’s enough. So he blocked me like I was being willfully malicious. 🤷♀️
