Pakistan goes to Africa: What's really in the Somalia defense MoU? Somalia signed a Memorandum of Understanding on defense cooperation with Pakistan. The memorandum envisages strengthening bilateral ties in defense and security, conducting joint exercises, and exchanging experiences, according to Somalia's Ministry of Defense. In effect, the highest-ranking civilian officials responsible for governing the entire district were themselves beaten up by federal troops. The confrontation began after federal soldiers seized large numbers of livestock belonging to local residents. Somali officials went to the military camp to ask why the animals had been taken, but were assaulted instead. 🚨 #Somalia | Al-Shabab Double IED Attack Kills More Than 10 Somalia Soldiers in Lower Shabelle More than 10 Somalia soldiers were killed and at least 15 others wounded yesterday after Al-Shabab militants targeted a Gorgor military troop carrier travelling with supplies from Mogadishu toward Mubarak. The vehicle was struck by a powerful IED on the road between Awdheegle and Mubarak, reportedly destroying the truck.
