@WhiteHouse @JoeBiden I wonder if KJP has ever visited her motherland Haiti. You should ask her Simon.

I'm going to say this again. No one is positioning it that way. However, there are documentaries on PBS, stories in Black History museums, websites and books that chronicle slaves that have leveraged skills gained while in slavery to SIGNIFICANTLY prosper once freed. Highlighting their stories DOES NOT condone, dismiss, or put slavery in any positive light. Telling the wonderful story of Mary Ellen Pleasant is an amazing story about being resilient, tough, the wonderful HUMAN spirit of making something of your terrible beginnings. But many of us know this. They hate stories like Dr. Thomas Sowell, Dr. Ben Carson and numerous others who overcame those early beginnings to make something of themselves. They DO NOT WANT to ruin the narrative of the liberal white saviors. It's been 60 years and Malcolm X and his critique of white liberals is as true as ever.

@WhiteHouse @JoeBiden “It is the case that Africans proved resourceful, resilient and adaptive, and were able to develop skills and aptitudes which served to their benefit, both while enslaved and after enslaved,” he argued in a short clip that ABC aired."
