BREAKING: Working Mass can confirm that the antisemitic chants were shouted not by encampment organizers, but by pro-Israel counter-supporters. We are waiting on a response from Northeastern about their decision to arrest their own students in light of this new information.

Encamped students responded to the provocation with boos and "we're gonna let them leave!" referring to the pro-Israel counter protesters who had been shouting provocative statements.

This chant was directly cited by Northeastern as justification for the raid that occurred this morning: "Last night, the use of virulent antisemitic slurs, including ‘kill the Jews,’ crossed the line."

Their response, based on a fabrication, was to arrest over one hundred Northeastern faculty, workers, and students.

Northeastern relied on backup from around 60 State Police from Special Emergency Response Team, as well as many more additional MA and Boston officers. Protestors were put in vans from the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department.

Students were moved one by one into a building and then to waiting vans.

As police loaded protestors from the dawn raid, additional students who had mostly just arrived linked arms spontaneously in defiance, blocking the vans.

Meanwhile MA State Police and NUPD continued to arrest students one by one. Each one is a hero putting their body on the line, because they know it is nothing compared to what our siblings are facing in Gaza. “From Emerson to NYC, we are all SJP.”
