As I explain below, one of the things that has led to so much of the crime and disorder in our towns and cities is the disappearance of the Non-Commissioned Officer in public life. When I was growing up, almost every town had a police Sergeant, usually a man who had been a Sergeant Major in the armed forces. They were tough and knew how to command respect, but not domineering. They were the kinds of men that Rudyard Kipling respected and wrote so much about. This figure has been shouldered out of our society. Bringing it back would do much to restore a sense of order and civility to our streets.

The Satmar Rebbe, the great Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum of blessed memory, rose from the scarred ashes of the Holocaust furnace to painstakingly reestablish Jewish life in America. The Rebbe, in his far-reaching vision, understood the grave ramifications that Zionism would cause for the Jewish people. He made it his life’s mission to inculcate in his thousands of followers the evil dangers of this godless political movement. The holy Rebbe commanded that it is our sacred duty to call out the Zionists’ misleading claims of being representatives of Jews or of Israel being a Jewish state. We are proud to continue carrying the Rebbe’s torch of truth and unconditional loyalty to G-d’s Torah, no matter the cost. in the Rebbe’s holy words: “It is a grave danger to the Jewish people if we point to those who do not keep the Torah and deny G-D and call them the leaders of the Jewish people. All the nations are thereby misled to think that they speak in the name of Jewry, and thus they are transformed into anti-Semites. And really, if it were possible, even at the risk of our lives, to let the nations of the world know that these wicked men are not the representatives of the Jewish people, and have no connection with them, it would be one of the biggest mitzvos to do so!”
