Here’s a full explanation of the decision, the context, and why voting rights champions should NOT lose hope:

Every time you use the phrase, "a very effective tool to stop voter suppression", I hear, "a very effective tool to enable election fraud". You cannot find but a handful of people, across the country, who have incontrovertible proof their right to vote has been taken from them. All you and your ilk can do is explain some esoteric fable, with no evidence, and get activist judges to side with you.

SCOTUS & The GOP are anti-voting. The DOJ will have to expand their activities and step up where the ACLU & NAACP and no doubt in some places the ADL as well have been picking up the DOJ's slack for decades.

🤔

@MeidasTouch Here we go

@ninaturner White people no longer believe in democracy it’s a direct threat to white supremacy because of our future demographics

@MeidasTouch If black and brown American citizens get stripped of their rights to vote, we will effectively be without representation in Washington. No representation = no taxation.

@MeidasTouch

This is an old law, and it does not have a private right of action. The purpose of the VRA was to give power to the federal government, @thejusticedept, to cripple the elections in the states to promote Johnson initiatives throughout the South.
