Mr. Ignazio Cassis, Vice President and Foreign Minister of Switzerland called on the Prime Minister of Pakistan on the side lines of the ongoing technical level talks between USA and Iran at Burgenstock, Switzerland. The Swiss Foreign Minister appreciated the mediation role played by Pakistan that steered the negotiation process leading to the signing of the Islamabad MoU between Iran and United States. He also expressed their willingness to contribute and assist the follow up process. #ISPR Rawalpindi, 4 March, 2026 Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, #COAS & CDF of #Pakistan visited Wana in South Waziristan to review the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness along the Western border. Field Marshal laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument to pay homage to the martyrs who rendered supreme sacrifices in defence of the motherland. The Field Marshal offered Fateha and reaffirmed that the sacrifices of Shuhada remain the cornerstone of Pakistan’s security and resilience. During the visit, the Field Marshal was given a comprehensive briefing on the security environment, ongoing intelligence-based operations and measures in place for border management. The Field Marshal was briefed in detail regarding ongoing Operation Ghazab lil Haq and developments along Pakistan–Afghanistan border. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir interacted with the officers and troops deployed in forward areas, commending their unwavering professionalism, operational vigilance, and high morale during the ongoing skirmishes. He lauded their steadfast commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and ensuring peace and stability in the region. There is more than enough to criticise about Donald Trump without misquoting him. In this instance, he did not say that the Prime Minister of Pakistan would have died without his involvement. He said that ‘35 million people’ would have died, and that this was conveyed to him by the Pakistani Prime Minister. That is very different from how many mainstream Indian journalists and reporters are presenting it, which misstates what was actually said. One may question the accuracy, the exaggeration, or the framing of what was said. However, altering the wording entirely only weakens legitimate criticism. Disagreement does not justify inaccuracy. If we want higher standards in public life, we must also apply them in our own reporting and commentary, even when the subject is someone we strongly disagree with.
