Today, workers at the Hilton Hawaiian Village voted to ratify their new contract ending a 40-day strike that began on September 24 ✅ Over 1,800 workers are expected to return to work tomorrow at 4 a.m. The Hilton Hawaiian Village was one of eight hotels in Hawai‘i that went on a historic 3-day strike over Labor Day Weekend. More than 3,200 Local 5 members at the seven other hotels are still working without a contract and could strike at any time. “Workers at the Hilton Hawaiian Village have led all of us to an important & historic victory that puts hospitality workers and this community one step closer to making ‘one job enough’ a reality," said Cade Watanabe, Financial Secretary-Treasurer. “But our campaign continues until we have achieved settlements with Hyatt, Kyo-ya & Marriott - where more than 3,200 hotel workers have also authorized additional strikes if necessary.”

NEW: Possible human skull encased in concrete found by workers at a South Boston pier. According to NBC10 Boston, construction workers were repairing the concrete along the Black Falcon Terminal in Boston’s Seaport when they came across the skull. Local reports say the skull is currently being examined by a forensic anthropologist. The Medical Examiner says if the skull is indeed a human one, they will go back to the site and dig up more of the pier to see if there are more remains.

An unlawful car meet on American Legion Highway was breaking up at 2 AM because Boston Police had rolled up. Witnesses say a moped shooter opened fire, roughly four rounds, as the pack rode out. Boston Police were reportedly 300 feet away. No pursuit and no arrest have been reported. This happened earlier this summer. Residents say it is the same car meet crew that has been taking over the city every weekend for five years. Southbay, Franklin Park, Castle Island, Back Bay, Blue Hill Ave. Mostly stolen mopeds. No plates. No consequences.

AMAZON TEAMSTERS LAUNCH ONE-DAY STRIKE AT COMPANY'S LARGEST WAREHOUSE Today, Amazon Teamsters at the $3 trillion corporation's DJT6 warehouse in Riverside, California, launched a one-day ULP strike to protest Amazon's illegal intimidation and retaliation against workers demanding safer working conditions. Workers at DJT6 — Amazon's largest warehouse in the nation — organized with Teamsters Local 1932 last year. Since then, the company has refused to listen to worker concerns and even fired a rank-and-file union leader at the warehouse without cause. Now, Amazon Teamsters at DJT6 are on a 24-hour work stoppage to protest Amazon's illegal actions. Today’s strike is the first time that Teamsters on both primary shifts at the DJT6 facility have engaged in a coordinated action, bringing one of Amazon’s key nationwide hubs to a 24-hour shutdown.

Let’s not forget that on June 25, 2025, the Somali flag was raised over City Hall Plaza as Mayor Wu celebrated the “conquest of colonialism” and declared July 1 as Somali Independence Day in Boston. Celebrating heritage is one thing but when elected leaders start elevating foreign national symbols and rhetoric above the interests of the people they serve, it raises serious questions. With everything happening in Minnesota, we have to ask: Is Massachusetts heading down the same path?

Happy Labor Day Everyone! I walked the picket line again this weekend with hotel housekeepers striking against inhumane treatment, including anti-strike violence by Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Los Angeles. Fairmont housekeepers clean 14 to 15 large rooms a day. The hotel, which cut staff during COVID, is now enjoying pre-COVID occupancy rates and profits but nevertheless wants to increase daily workloads to 18 rooms to compensate for understaffing. 3 out of every 5 workers is injured on the job each year due to repetitive lifting of heavy mattresses + bending to scrub and clean. Workers typically commute 2 hours from Palmdale or Victorville because of the unaffordable housing in Santa Monica. Some live in their cars during the work week to save gas money. Many of the workers also work two jobs to keep up with inflation. As he laid off hundreds of hotel workers during the pandemic, Hilton’s CEO doubled his own salary from $10 million to $20 million annually.

Breaking: 300 federal and local agents doing raid at LA's historic MacCarthur park -- where open drug use and the 'fentantyl fold' can be seen on any given day. Multi-month undercover operation. DEA tells me the Sinaloa cartel brings the fentanyl & meth into the area controlled by 18th street gang, a rival of MS-13. 19 kilos of fentanyl valued at $8-$10m already seized in one house raid this morning. Just a few hours ago, in the park I witnessed a young man do the fentanyl fold and hit the ground ... go unconscious/OD ... and be left with Narcan.

We took a short drive on the road along the river by our home this morning. As you can see, a bit overgrown due to cattle! This is exact same land on which we used to be able to see a herd of impala at 200 meters at this time of year, in the days before we began managing holistically. Now we could not see one at one meter. And this is what we are seeing following now over twenty years of poor rainfall. The river this year already drier than ever known. If only…….

This is the scene at the CJP protest site this morning, where even the stray dogs have stopped showing up Using the rain as an excuse, they have completely covered Sonam Wangchuk's stage with a yellow tarpaulin. They are now covering the right side as well Soon, no one will be able to see what's happening on the stage. If Sonam Wangchuk ends up eating pakoras and samosas in this weather, how will anyone know? If it's really a hunger strike, then remove the yellow tarpaulin. Otherwise, Sonam Wangchuk can do whatever he wants, and how will the public know?

Just been sent this about another freak who shouldn’t even be here in the first place: “Asian fella crouched down in the bushes in hamilton square in birkenhead. dont fully know what he was doing but regardless, whys he there.. walked off as i come over towards him and then this fella stood upto him and he soon got off. it’s seedy whatever he was doing. right behind the benches in the center of the park where kids hang around. they need to be careful. and while we’re on the topic, birko is getting proper bad in terms of migrants and that. saw it with my own eyes, they’re shipping 4-5 coaches in at dark round the back of conway park station and there’s hundreds of people all stood waiting for something, none english. been happening for months. i’d say its worse in birko than liverpool currently”
