Brian Simmons emphatically claimed that an angel helped him complete the "Passion Translation" version of Romans. It only took me 45 minutes last night to find at least 35 plagiarized footnotes. Does God send angels to help people break the 8th commandment?

In 2021, a visibly torqued Kris Valloton (Bethel Church's head prophet) mocked folk who were critical of The Passion Translation of the Bible- a weird and wonky paraphrase they endorsed, promoted and sold. Last week Bethel Church pulled it down from their bookstore after an exposé by the YouTube channel Minor Prophets revealed the extent to which its creator, Brian Simmons, routinely plagiarized or outright lied about where the translation came from and how he produced it, demonstrating repeatedly that much of Simmons’ “translation’ involved just making things up.

One of Brian Simmons' proudest achievements is the fact that he succeeded in inserting into the Passion "Translation" the idea that we are equal to Jesus. He tells this story over and over about how his first publisher refused to publish TPT because he was shocked that Brian would assert that we are equal to Jesus. In response, Brian does not say, "No, I'm not saying we are equal to Jesus." His response is: "I would never say that. He [God] did." As if that were not blasphemous enough, he goes on to say that we "complete Him" and that "it's not good for the Son of Man to be alone." It's one thing for Brian to teach heresy. It's another thing for him to openly brag that he overcame his publisher's reluctance in order to insert that heresy into what many believe to be a real Bible.

Last Friday, I debated a pro-abortion pastor… only to find out he doesn’t even believe Jesus is the son of God. Heretics like him only drive people to the Catholic Church, so I can’t be too mad… it reminds me how God can use anyone. 🤷‍♀️

He had some of the most well-known Charismatic leaders hyping up his "Aramaic translation" all over the world. TPT only exists because of this deception. And now, we are being told that the final "Bible" will have almost no references to this secret "Aramaic." Why? Because various individuals have now exposed the fact that most of the "Aramaic" was just the ramblings of an amateur filmmaker who claimed to have a secret manuscript in a secret language that he refused to show anyone. The endorsements page for TPT is still a "Who's Who" of the Charismatic church.

This is after 15 years of claiming that Jesus Himself supernaturally revealed the "missing piece of Aramaic" to him. This is after claiming in front of hundreds of people that the Greek of Eph. 5:22 is "abusive." 15 years of claiming that Greek only "speaks to the mind" while Aramaic "speaks to the heart." 15 years of huge leaders throughout the body of Christ telling their people that TPT contains "deeper revelation" because it comes "from the Aramaic." Last week at UNLV I was asked why I’m a Christian and if I believe the Bible by a guy wearing a pentagram shirt thinking it would show people Satan. The video has gone viral and now at least 10 million people have seen it and heard the gospel because of it. Hopefully the interaction helped him too, but I know for sure it has helped others. “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” Genesis 50:20 Happy Easter!
