Happy birthday to Paul Simon, born on this day in 1941! A folk-pop genius whose love for music, sparked in Queens’ vibrant ’50s rock and doo-wop scene, crafted timeless melodies with Simon & Garfunkel on hits like “Bridge Over Troubled Water” (1970). His solo work, blending world rhythms with poetic lyrics on Graceland (1986), earned 12 Grammys and reshaped global pop.
