Amanda Frances says she doesn’t watch all the RHOBH episodes. When she filmed this interview, she had only seen two episodes. Amanda explains her matcha order and how the matcha needs to be ceremonial grade. She says she always felt she was going to be on reality TV and that she manifested it. When she bought Kyle Richards’ home, she thought, “Could this be my way in to reality TV?” Beyond Kyle, Amanda says Kathy has been a great friend to her, as well as Jennifer Tilly, whom she calls “a gem.” She says she and Sutton got closer, and we will see Sutton be a friend to Amanda on their cast trip to Italy. Grief is weird. I will never judge a grieving widow but NOT being pregnant after your husband was murdered IS THE BLESSING. Missing your spouse but wanting to be pregnant and have a baby be born into that grief would be emphatically harder. The two children she has are the blessing and I have no doubt she will go on to have more children and remarry but no, that is entirely too much!

As a society we have to stop glorifying the caretaker role. Or the glue of the family. We have to be honest about the silent suffering. The role it takes on the body and spirit. The fact that she also has needs, and they matter. That she needs support because she might look like she has it all together but she is dissociated. It’s time for us to recognize this role brings suffering and to teach every parentified daughter she deserves the same care she gives. That it HEALTHY to be selfish at times. That rest and boundaries are the greatest act of self love.
