The driver, 47-year-old William Murphy III, said the car had a mechanical issue, and he thought the best way to get the vehicle to a repair shop was to drive it in reverse. According to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, the mechanical issues Murphy claimed to have had, disappeared when he was pulled over.
