Bring Back The LCS

Official numbers from ESCharts 30K drop from Summer '24 final average and we haven't even had the mid-season dip yet, let alone the 20% summer drop Also, as I was noting for weeks, there would not be a boost between splits 1 and 2... the blame on the format was overblown

Agree with most of this (costreamers might not be viable since it’s just not worth it to them to be on broadcast vs streaming from home). I also think losing 40% of LCS teams just truly killed any interest in the league from a competitive side. At this point they should do 5 t1 and 5 t2 teams with a true promotion/relegation. Split franchise costs (weighted more to t1) and similarly split stipends

I agree. I was really skeptical about this whole thing to begin with. I wanted to give it a chance. But idk after the first split I stopped watching. It's just not fun anymore. I miss the LCS, I miss the road shows for finals. :/

City based league that tours the world 🤭

I’ve given on my golden dream :(

I fully support this take and for me it's not about solely about viewership. I think that fans don't like the merger and even don't want to like it. I think that the LCS and CBLOL now sharing spots an international events is a travesty. And I think that the viewership is a byproduct of years of unstable broadcast product. Point blank, I think that Riot needs to sell the broadcast rights to the sport. I think that they need to bring in experience from traditional sports and find a way to effectively standardize the sport across all regions. Or they need to take a step back and re-open the game to other tournament organizers, similar to CS.

I agree with everything except bringing in the costreamers. I think that is just unrealistic. Neither Dom or DL are probably in a situation where anything Riot can realistically offer will make them join the broadcast on a regular basis. It’s just not worth it to them.

I felt like they had a split no one cares about when they had spring split. The 3 split system gave us an extra split to not care about. Losing a seed at worlds. The LCS needed to have the next generation involved to support it but it started that too late. The steady decline of the LCS was never going to survive a rebranding without massive marketing.

I'd watch em live if they weren't BO1's. Bo1's are horrible to watch.
