No. That is not how any of this works. 😂 There is nothing in the U.S. Constitution saying impeachment “nullifies” a president’s term. Impeachment by the House is the bringing of charges; acquittal by the Senate simply means the president is not removed through that impeachment proceeding. It does not erase the years they served, undo their election, or magically reset the presidential term-limit counter. The 22nd Amendment is remarkably clear: “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.” Trump was elected in 2016 and 2024. Twice. His two previous impeachments and Senate acquittals did not erase his first term, and another impeachment wouldn't erase this one either. There is no constitutional “impeachment = two bonus lives” rule. Someone simply made that up. 😏

the Constitution does not say that. Impeachment by the House without conviction in the Senate has no effect on a president's term or their eligibility under the 22nd Amendment, which limits a president to two terms total regardless of impeachment history.

You really think he’s going to live 10 more years? You want a 90 year old running our country? He’s old. No thank you!

I fact checked this and it is not true. This interpretation of the U.S. Constitution is inaccurate; the 22nd Amendment strictly limits presidents to two elected terms, and impeachment proceedings do not reset or nullify term counts as confirmed by constitutional experts and fact-checks. Trump needs a vacation in any regard, and Vance and/or Rubio are now both well qualified to take the MAGA Mantle.

The two-term rule is the 22nd Amendment: “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.” It counts elections, not impeachment outcomes. Nothing in its text, or in the impeachment clauses, says an unconvicted impeachment wipes a term and resets the count.

Fucking moron. The U.S. Constitution does not state that impeachment by the House without Senate conviction nullifies a president's term or allows them to run for two more terms. The 22nd Amendment limits any person to being elected president no more than twice.

Must be in the Cherry Pickers Constitution. I’ll have to find it cause I misplaced it next to my Cherry Pickers Bible.

That is simply a false statement about the Constitution.

From @grok No. That meme is made up. Nothing in the Constitution nullifies a term because the House impeached and the Senate didn’t convict. The 22nd Amendment is plain: no one gets elected president more than twice. A person who has already served more than two years of someone else’s term can only be elected once. Impeachment isn’t in that math. Impeachment is just the House charging you. Conviction and removal take a two-thirds vote in the Senate. Trump was impeached twice and acquitted both times. Those terms still counted. He served 2017–2021, and the current term is the second election. That’s the limit. Acquittal doesn’t erase the calendar, and it doesn’t hand out extra runs. The mountain doesn’t care what a TikTok says either.

This is the Dems dream to have this guy run again in 2028. That’s how they would get AOC in.

100% false House impeachment alone does not remove a president, end a term, or reset eligibility. Only a Senate conviction can remove someone from office (and the Senate may separately bar them from future office). Trump was impeached by the House twice (2019 and 2021) and acquitted by the Senate both times; those proceedings did not nullify either term or create extra eligibility.

Morons. Term limits come from the 22nd Amendment: no one may be elected president more than twice. Impeachment without conviction does not alter how terms are counted or create any extra bar.

READER'S NOTE: The Constitution does not say that a President's first term is nullified merely because the House impeaches him or her and the Senate never conducts a trial. The key distinction is between impeachment and conviction/removal, and there's nothing about "nullifying" a term The Constitution contains no provision saying: "If a President is impeached but not convicted, the President's term—or first term—doesn't count." So the constitutional issue isn't whether an impeachment "erases" a term. Rather, it is whether impeachment, removal, or some other event affects whether a completed presidency counts as an "election" to the presidency for purposes of the 22nd Amendment.
