When I watched your video where you mention that story, I was astounded by how the story just kept getting worse with every new sentence.

@TruthScarier I believe it’s possible, they said the American chestnut was gone but we found it in the wild.

What are the contentions against its legitimacy?

-Two of the three birds dont move -The third bird isnt as bright in color as the parakeets usually were -The guy who "found" it was a bird trainer -He also thought pyramids and Egyptian amulets could give people special powers

@lancianknight The other two bird do move, though? The middle bird flexes its wing/tail and the one on the left flies off at the end

@lancianknight Also it doesn't seem that weird that a bird trainer would have leads on where rare birds are, and woo beliefs like that were pretty common in the 30s

@lancianknight Perhaps, but Nelson claimed he bought the film from a man who has never been identified, not that he hunted for it himself

@lancianknight Was Nelson trying to get anything out of having the film?

@lancianknight Im not quite sure, though he did apparently get a lot of money from selling his "expertise" over the years.

@lancianknight He was also a compulsive liar who claimed to be friends with both the prime minister of Israel and the Egyptian king (they went to war against each other) as well as having degrees from fake universities or universities that, when asked, said they had no record of him

Arcadia and the rest of the San Gabriel Valley in California (Pasadena, Temple City, San Marino, etc.) remain one of the main strongholds of Red-crowned Amazons. Current estimates put several thousand of them in Southern California. I grew up hearing/seeing them in the 70's

They arent native but there are an absolute shitload in south florida. Huge groups

Why people are cryptic on X puzzles me; but here's something (BTW, O. Stemville was Black):

New Haven ct has parrots 🦜 gone native.

Have you all heard about the parrots that live in Chicago and build massive nest?

They just fly around Long Beach every day

not parakeets, but parrots can be found in san francsico, east of the coit tower, right near the cliff
