Britain doesn’t officially recognise polygamous marriages. But it will happily pay for them. This man has 3 wives and 11 children. No job. The wives live as one “family” socially and religiously, yet legally the additional wives are treated as single mothers for benefits purposes. And the result is... multiple housing claims, child benefit for every child, and universal credit top ups. The more wives and kids, the bigger the payout. Meanwhile the British taxpayer gets the bill. This is a good example of welfare arbitrage. The state refuses to recognise the marriage on paper, then subsidises the exact same arrangement with public money.
