So start doing the simple things to reduce spending. No foreign national benefits. Deport foreign criminals. Deport net negative gdp producing immigrants. Cut net zero targets. Cut welfare spending.

Now realise that the government can create an unlimited amount of custards cream at zero cost. Why does it still buy custard creams? Please explain.

I don't understand who this is for. And what are you going to do about it then? Going to all this effort just to go 'follow me if you agree' like a Facebook aunt is a bit of a strange way for an MP to use their time

Yet another example of a fervent advocate of capitalist free market economics explaining why, after 45 years of a capitalist free market economy, Britain is skint and can’t afford sewage disposal and emergency healthcare

The debt can be big or small. GDP can be big or small. The relationship is not indicative of good or bad. There’s inflation, balance of trade, unemployment, health & life expectancy, inequality, homelessness, education, sanitation, etc. which debt/GDP ratio doesn’t explain.

Don’t forget the part where we privatised all our custard creams and then paid extra to borrow them.

Strangely you omit from your figures the total UK public sector pension liability, with recent figures placing the unfunded liabilities at around £1.3 trillion to over £2.6 trillion. Gonna need another packet of custard creams. Perhaps it's time to stop spending money?

“in 2008 when the banks ran out of money and we had to bail them out” Dear Sir Mr Mckee MP: Why did the banks run out of money? Why did we have to “bail them out”? Why can’t we “bail out” collapsing water treatment facilities? or the NHS? or our councils?

Profilbild von Paul Scholes

Gordon, when the government first issues its gilts to the banks etc in the primary market, in return for £s in the banks' reserves, where do you think those banks got those £s from?

Labour folk are realising that Polanski's doing quite well on the social media so they've picked out one of their least essential, most stupid little pricks and told them to go shoot something for TikTok to win over the kids. The result is the absolute guff you see here.

This is what a stupid person thinks a clever person sounds like. There's no need for UK to borrow at all. The whole debt system is designed to reward those who have wealth and extract more from those who work for a living.

No, this is pap. Typical regime ignorance, distraction (custard creams) and patronage. He's wrong. Markets look at affordability of debt as measured by annual deficit, which is why Japan has long survived higher debt levels ("a bug in search of a windscreen"). Britain's monthly deficits are rising fast and the markets are noticing. This matters because deficits rise fast during a meltdown. And the historic constant is that society collapses once annual deficits hit 20% of GDP, which is where we're headed. Don't be distracted by superficial entertainment slop like this.

Truly bizarre how our debt-to-GDP ratio keeps climbing even though we’ve imported an unlimited supply of Third World migrants who we’re constantly reminded are literally our greatest strength. I'm sure it's purely coincidental, however.

The British government does not borrow £. The idea that it would borrow in the currency it issues is silly. What it does is (unnecessarily) issue gilts (interest-bearing, time-limited savings accounts) to the value of the money it spends in excess of its tax revenues each year.

Profilbild von Jamie Stoddart

This is what is commonly called horse shit. The national debt is nothing more than a record of the £s created by successive ukgovs when buying goods & services which became the £s in our pockets that await being taxed out & destroyed.

Britain's national debt has increased significantly since Brexit, with the national debt rising to approximately £2.9 trillion as of late 2025. This includes a rise of over £186 billion in just one year (July 2024 to July 2025) on Labours watch. No mention of these facts?
