An ICE agent was struck by a suspect's vehicle during an attempted arrest in New Jersey, and then opened fire as the driver sped away. The confrontation unfolded along Route 72 in Manahawkin shortly as federal immigration agents moved in to take a suspect into custody. Authorities say the vehicle was hit by gunfire, but the suspect managed to escape and remains on the run. Police say they were not involved in the ICE operation and there is currently no known threat to the public.

In Moldova, more than one hundred people were detained (74 of them for up to 72 hours), as part of an investigation into an alleged Russia-backed plan to incite mass riots and destabilize the country around a critical parliamentary election - Victor Furtună, Moldova's Chief Prosecutor from the Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases. He said the suspects had traveled to Serbia, where they underwent training. Investigators allege they were taught tactics for breaking through police cordons, methods of resistance, and the use of batons and firearms. Moldovan police stated that some of the detainees had been trained inside Moldova itself, while only those instructed by Russian citizens were sent to Serbia. The Moldovan Intelligence and Security Service reported that the operation was coordinated by a handler who presented himself as an officer of a Russian special service under the alias "Bes." It is also reported that a GRU (Russian special services) officer was involved in the coordination, using a criminal network for recruitment.
