The music video premiered on MTV TRL May 6, 1999. It was directed by Nigel Dick and shot at Paradise Cove in Malibu. A Rolling Stone writer noted that the video is best known for "purifying the sexy persona Spears introduced in the '... Baby One More Time' video."

Fun fact: Paul Walker was originally cast to play her love interest but he was later replaced by model Chad Cole
