It depends. If you mean real history then yes the British did do a massive amount to end slavery but if you go by the history people like to make up, ignore real history, then no they did nothing. Depends which side of the fence each person sits on whether they go with true history or delusional history.

It's absolutely true. However, for the next 100 years the rich business owners from the UK (who had lost their access to slaves in India) used America as their proxy slave farms. They bought entire crops years in advance to take advantage of the slave labor.

A slave needs to be bought,fed and maintained so these greedy assholes didn't want to pay money and introduced something called as indentured labour where cost significantly came to half.They never paid em full.Often tricked into indentured labour and left them to suffer eternity
