What's portrayed in this movie is too bogus,I have many questions to ask really,if this is how spy craft works irl,then it's very easily detectable

The series is well done & enjoyable, but speaking spycraft, how does our guy, after years working undercover for many years, have that level of finely tuned field agent skills? Seems a bit of a hole in the storyline.
