They used to do brake and light checks before everybody switched to emissions tests. They would make sure your lights were properly aimed so as not to blind oncoming traffic. We should get back to that.

I used to think about installing a headlight/high beam on the rear of my car to turn on when people tailgate.

Used to have a pickup at work with a remote-controlled 360-degree rotation/-10 +70 degree elevation light turret with a 2 million candlepower light in it. I still want one of those for my personal vehicle.

It's illegal... but I need one. Way too many people drive with their brights on because they have a headlight out. And you can't tell me that the amount of people that do it just barely had their headlight go out last night.. They drive like this for weeks.

Sad it's gotten to the point of this. I've said years ago the US needs to mandate lumen and temperature ratings for headlights. Guidelines are like from the 1980s and based on wattage of lamps. Do you know how much brighter LEDs are compared to incandescent headlights per watt?
