@Savvytv777 @animeposts He made it. Joe (009) activates his Accelerator mode and outruns the thermal blast/shockwave from the nuke dropped on Dubai. He survives but gets knocked unconscious on a beach afterward (the team initially thinks he's dead due to the EMP blackout). Dubai doesn't fare as well.

This is about the only interesting scene in the entire anime. It was super boring, don’t be deceived to start watching it because of this scene.

Fun fact, the first time I saw this years ago, I missed the initial explosion. So I thought he was killing everyone with just how fast he was running 😭

Just watch the original from the 70s/80s (Cyborg 009: The Cyborg Soldier). This movie makes no sense without its context, and even then still sucks aside from 1-2 scenes. Trust me, the franchise is better off without this film.

The forces he's generating against his body by moving that fast are pretty close to that of the blast wave. It always confuses me when animators forget physics when speedsters are involved. If he's tough enough to survive running that fast, the blast won't hurt him.
