If these people actually ran out of a charge they are actually fucking stupid. When you punch in where you want to go on the GPS it plots everything for you down to the minute, even for charging to get to your destination. If you ran out of charge, you need a helmet and floaties.

This is so stupid. I like Tesla and not because I think they are better in all situations. But if I’m living in the suburbs and drive about 50 miles per day like 90% of the population it works great. And I don’t even have to drive.

Get back to me when the electric is out and the gas station won’t pump gas. Or the battery on a gas car goes dead. Gas doesn’t work without electricity. Works both ways lol.

The whole 'you're gonna run out of battery' trope is so stupid. It's no different than people that run out of gas. You're going to get plenty of warning, maybe even more than an ICE vehicle will give you, especially with a Tesla. Also, if you use the trip planner it'll tell you exactly when and where to stop and how much to charge to.

Guy bought an EV and managed to turn it into a shittier version of a hybrid car. At least when a hybrid's engine runs, you can still drive as it charges the car battery. This is the ability to charge an EV minus the ability to drive as it charges.

I don’t get the hate on this. People are ragging on multiple fuel options. Get one of those variable fuel generators that can do gas/propane and have options.

Couple of things 1. Don’t carry gas in your trunk like this🔥 2. Hybrids > EVs 3. If you were to safely carry a generator by mounting it externally, it needs to be much bigger than the Honda EU2000 to charge in a reasonable period of time

I’ve never once run into trouble where charge was too low for comfort. The cars navigation plots routes - sometimes several hundred miles - where superchargers are along the way and rarely ever stop longer than it takes to get a coffee and inevitable wife’s “I need to pee” stops.

It’s what I’ve been saying all along electric cars is not green energy because you need gasoline and oil to make electric cars

Petrol is king

Though this does decrease efficiencies it is not crazy to use in a pinch while parked. Note that most electricity on the grid used to charge EVs normally comes from fossil fuel plants. It is just more efficient to make electricity at scale than in a trunk. So this does work & is workable in a pinch as long as they leave the trunk open or move the generator outside the trunk while it is running. I would not recommend driving the car while the generator is running.
