Still looks better than any BMW for sale today.

Ha! Wait until he has to actually start to pay for the repairs and maintenance on it. Then, I bet he won't feel so good about it.

In Brazil there is a saying, nothing is as expensive as a cheap BMW, the price of buying one can be very low, but the maintenance cost is still as high as a new one, if not higher in some cases of parts scarcity

Where is the touchscreen, and the big knob that controls everything and distracts the driver when adjusting the audio? How did people drive back then?

It was nice until I got tp 90K. Then every month something else went wrong. Never less than$1000 and had to order parts from Germany. Mine was red. Beautiful machine but reminded me of my ex wife. Always needed more $

His first substantial repair will likely cost as much as he paid for the entire car.

this is when you think aesthetics is your whole life and you're stuck not listening to music in your car that breaks down every two weeks and costs gas like a mf

After filming he drove the car to the repair shop to get checked out for a mystery knocking sound l. Next week he’s scheduled for a full suspension repair. The week after that the car will be at the shop for a week to get rust cleaned out. The list never ends with hobby cars.

How do you get parts for it?

Apex Sigma Wolf's profile picture

What? No infotainment system, no trio of oversized screens, and no driver-assistance systems constantly telling you what to do? Somewhat beautifully old- school.

I always loved this car and actually could afford one nowadays. But I really fear the repair cost, especially for the V12. I got a 70s US muscle car instead, they are much less troublesome in that regard.

Nice ride. / Issue is availability of repair / replacement parts, on some of these older chariots 🌟 Can be a challenge, so due diligence is in order prior to purchase.

I had one of these and the maintenance and parts costs were outrageous. Finally got rid of it. Gorgeous car though. Mine.

They look amazing, but those old 840 & 850i's had nightmarish electrical gremlins at times.
