I like how they actually came up with a reason for not being able to free the sword by just destroying the rock around it

While I always criticize TFP for their sound affects design, the show got splendid voice acting. The performance Frank Welker put into this scene of Megatron actually struggling to pull a sword out of a stone is phenomenal and above all believable.
