Fight AND practice highlights of that 49ers-Titans joint session.... 🏈 Brock Purdy was dominant facing a familiar Robert Saleh defense. 13 has been locked in all camp. Especially good in the red zone, where he found Deebo for multiple TDs and again connected with Luke Farrell (growing theme) 🏈Bullying vibe, especially early, from the 49ers defense. Tennessee took exception, hence the fights. A first-play Upton Stout shove and a second-play Dre Greenlaw/Fred Warner TFL on a pitch right set a very physical tone. Then, after Renardo Green leveled Carnell Tate, matters exploded 🏈Two Titans' O-linemen eventually ejected. Skirmish activity extended into back half of practice after 49ers DT Osa Odighizuwa sacked Cam Ward and grabbed his shoulder pad. Tennessee didn't like that 🏈Titans seemed to have some rushing success vs 49ers, though it's very hard to gauge without watching the tape. Ward's accuracy was very inconsistent. Yes on the videos we have so far. The initial encounter was him filming them. There was no gun being brandished. They jumped out of vehicles to go to try to intimidate him. Unfortunately there's no video yet between then and when they had them on the ground. When they had him on the ground they were pistol whipping him, at first it looked like a baton, but it's actually a gun. They had him down with at least five officers. You got to wait for a second so he tried to stand up they shot him in the back he was motionless after they shot him in the back. Then there were four more shots or more after that unloaded into his body from a posture of standing above him. Not a defensive posture. He's supposedly has a gun. It looks like ICE took something out of a holster. So it's likely that he did have a HOLSTERED GUN in an open carry state that is not a reason to shoot someone to death. He was not brandishing it -- again it was his camera. That was the reason for the initial approach was to intimidate him about his camera. It is perfectly legal to film ice This is out not murder once again. Now there is some sort of speculation on social that a gun was dropped and a bullet went off. Pidcock waited for Tadej in the seconds before he was caught, but did not “wait” for more than 3 kilometers after the crash. Much of the media coverage is so matter of a fact about this comeback of Tadej. Sure here are lots of images of his wounds and there is a lot written on him overcoming the crash. But the effort Tadej did after the crash is quite spectacular to say the least. It is far from what has been said or written which in summary is “Tadej crashed, Pidcock waited, they worked together, Tadej dropped him and won.” Which has led to the “why did Pidcock wait?” discussion. I found this video below that shows the significance of the gap Tadej had to close before his bike change. Then I went back in and looked at the video as I wanted to get more detail. When I watched it live it sure didn’t seem like he waited, but he said he did after and the media said he did so… From what I found, Tadej’s crash cost him about 30 seconds from when he stopped sliding to when he got going again. With Pidcock blasting the turn and not hesitating I think this cost Tadej about 40 seconds. Then the bike change cost him another 10, so all in all he had to make up 50 seconds in his chase. Now let’s look at Pidcock. At the time of the crash he had 1:24 on the chasers. From the time Tadej crashed to when he was caught, Pidcock increased his gap to the chasing group (behind Tadej and Swift) to 1:30 in 3 kilometers. Now that doesn’t sound like much, but he went from holding this gap with Tadej sharing the pace, to now solo and gaining ground. When reviewing the footage I also noticed they went over a climb in dirt sector 11. Both were visibly riding hard despite appearing to go extremely hard, Tadej only closes 11 seconds. So clearly Pidcock was not “waiting” here either. The “waiting” finally occurs as Tadej gets him in sight and the gap is 10 seconds now. Now why is this worth looking at? Well in my opinion the effort Tadej had to close the gap was a race winning effort. Something like 470w for 6 mins AND THEN had to redo the effort again to win the race in addition to 44 more kilometers while bruised and battered. Did Pidcock do the right thing keeping the pressure on after the crash? Absolutely as he didn’t know if Tadej was injured or out and he was in the lead. Was it tactically a good call too if Tadej was ok? Yes, it forced Tadej to use precious glycogen resources to catch back. Overall I just saw this video and wanted to dive more into the chase. There definitely was a lot there and sheds light on how strong Tadej is riding right now.

Watching some Mike Green this morning: Lots of complaining #onhere about him being off ball. Has happened 8 total snaps when offenses present certain looks and he's playing SAM. KVN usual SAM. He moves really well in space if he's able to process what the offense is doing. One of his 8 coverage drops lead to an INT when he took away a crosser, Flacco had to keep moving and Wiggins took ball. Otherwise he's too slow to process, as a rookie edge often will be in first four weeks. His strides are too short and inefficient to win the way he wants to. Wants to win around the arc. Needs to explode out first step needs to be long and get OT into recovery mode. If they vertical set he's too late to get to the corner. Inside counters haven't been a part of his game so far. Short strides and no threat of going inside makes it easy on the OT. Still really impressed with his karate. Understands how to lift paws off his chest, how to gain leverage to rip through when OT has arms extended to quickly rip and dip. Does a great job getting his outside arm onto the triceps of the OT when they extend so he can lift/pull, then rip. I would add a swipe to his arsenal before season is over. Work on it after practice. Add it to his arsenal more in offseaosn. His steps and decisions on which foot to propel off of aren't clean enough yet. He is taking one too many steps too often. Taking too long to get to his spot or to attack OT. (It's his fifth game today, to be expected) Sidenote, Oweh looks good and there's NO interior rush. Simply no threat. Peebles is the only one w/ explosiveness but he's just wild and trying to randomly cause havoc, which is fine, but there's no efficient interior rusher at all.
