Dunno if you touched on this, but some of those seasons were also Olympic years, so he was playing even more games.

On top of that insane win total, think of how much more it could’ve been; -he missed about 2 seasons worth of games due to NHL lockouts AND -he was playing during the era of ties, he had 105. No doubt a good amount of those would’ve translated to wins like today’s goalies get.

105 ties. Add an additional 50 wins easy with today’s rules. Plus two lockout seasons.
