First off the screen was so high, Mcdaniels should have just gone under. 2nd thing is Rudy knows the time and score. 2 is okay, No 3. Should’ve pushed Luka to his left, by having his left leg over Luka’s right to trick him into driving past him and not doing a step back 3. Worst case help side stays with their man and Luka makes a floater with a 7 foot coming from behind. Best case he misses and wolves win. Terrible defense from DPOY.

1) Could have doubled the initial screen 2) Anyone from the weak side (probably Lively’s man) could have doubled when they spaced 3) Why, in a 2-point game, is the DPOY worried about getting beat off the dribble? In that situation, as a defender, isn’t your job to force a drive?

A year ago the whole "Luka back to the Mavs" chatter was - of course - mostly coping and rather absurd. However, several things have changed, all of which at least give a glimmer of hope to the "Luka 2028" project. 1) The snake who traded him is fired. 2) The coach who didn't protect him is fired. 3) The Mavs have a perfect co-star who would fit Luka's strength and play style like a glove. 4) Luka wants to be a Maverick, not a Laker. 5) Lakers are a mess organization-wise, Mavs now have a great GM and coach. 6) Lakers won't win a title in the next 2 years, and Luka will eventually need a younger co-star (Cooper), which the Lakers don't have. 7) This one is the most important: Deep down, Luka is a kid in grown-man's body. I am 100% certain he still has a strong emotional connection to Dallas and wants to prove everyone that the trade was insane and win in Dallas. 8) His most important role model and idol, Dirk, has signaled interest in the Mavs again, after distancing himself from the organization after the Luka trade. I am convinced that means the world to Luka. So, as much as people discard that scenario, it feels at least possible now!
