There should have been something to make that first barrier more visible HOWEVER There's a reason it's against the rules to ride on the pavement regardless of if there are barriers or not and this is what can happen when riders ignore the rules that exist for their safety

Why would you ride on the side walk.? I saw the last few kilometres and everyone was hoping on and off the side walk. Very dangerous and you can’t blame the organisers and UCI for everything.

Yes, it was organise error, on the other hand riding on pavement is strictly forbidden. Also, we saw when I saw that couple of riders finished on the wrong side of barrier. They will never learn…

Big fault from the riders, not the organizers

Why are they riding off the road?

If they start by riding on the road instead on the pavement. Anyway speedy recovery for all riders who crashed.

Or they should stay on the road, like the rules say? And didn't they do laps? So they passed that point already, no? It is not always the organizers fault. Allthough they could have made the barriers more visible.

Davide Bomboi was in perfect position, very unlucky for Rockets…

People seeing a race cyclist: "Why aren't they on the road?" People seeing a regular cyclist: "Why are they on the road?"

...or they should have stayed on the road and not driven on the sidewalk.
