To those who say "it's her choice" I used to say the same thing about my own Hijab. I was covered head to toe. Even on the beach. Even with my male relatives. And when people challenged me, I said: this is my choice. You know why? Because the other option was burning in hell, hung by my hair for eternity. That's what they taught me since childhood. Yes, let me repeat it for you to just understand about our version of “freedom of choice.” I grew up in an Islamist culture that gave me two options. Cover yourself and go to heaven. Or don't cover, and be hanged by your hair and burned in hell. Like when someone puts a gun to your head and says "you can go left or right", technically, yes, that's a choice. I picked heaven. I called it freedom. And I believed it, because that's what happens when fear is all you've ever known. And if you think I shouldn't be telling you my story, I don't care. On this, my birthday… I thank God for a year, though with more challenges than victories, that taught me lessons hidden in pain, in loss, in struggle. For showing me that taking a noble stand, even if it costs you, even when you’re criticized, is far better than living safe, silent, and untested. I Thank God for a year that built grit in so many of us and taught us more about the invincible power of not giving up. For the humbling truth that no one person can save the world but we all can serve in it - especially in small acts. Daily kindness. And maybe that’s how the world heals, not all at once, but a million times over. Thank you for reminding me, in a long year, to hold onto wonder, joy and even fun - as defiance, as resistance, as restoration in the long fight. Naomie Aliza Bikhar, 23 A French-Israeli citizen She was murdered by Hamas terrorists at the Supernova music festival on Oct 7. This is her story: She attended the rave alongside her boyfriend, Oz Ezra, who was also slain that day. The pair tried to flee the onslaught of terrorists, and Oz was shot in the shoulder but continued to run for safety. Why is the national guard handing out coffee and donuts? The ret*rds among the Amerimutt right don't understand why the National Guard of Minnesota are giving out donuts and coffee to the locals in Minneapolis. They're too inexperienced to understand basic COIN principles. You must win over the locals. You have to meet with them, create every opportunity to connect. Make them like you and do it in a genuine, and human way. Once you do that 90% of your operations are basically done. This is how the US gets to stay in extremely dangerous places around the world, and the unit responsible for it is CAPOC. It's manned by extremely charismatic and intelligent officers. Every event and encounter is accounted for, studied and eventually every loss is turned into a win. In Vietnam era terminology it's called winning hearts and minds. The majority of humans, by their core nature, are unwilling to attack a friendly face. Furthermore, when they connect with someone, genuinely, they are unlikely to betray them most of the time. Stack these events and the likelihood of immersion with the locals becomes high. Then you facilitate your strategic objectives, without any interference from the locals, because they're already on your side. What you don't do is a road-side execution, fit for a terror organisation. This doesn't just lose you the locals but creates an environment where people around the world want to actively see you harmed, or lose. Every local you kill has hundreds of friends and potentially thousands of associations. Do this enough times and the entire city will want to hunt you down. My ordinary grocery "Meat Markdown" hunt was delayed by a Pharmacist as I walked into the store. He was standing at a display table & announced, "If you schedule 2+vaccines for the same visit we are giving a dozen doughnuts for free as a thank you for getting your preventive shots." He handed me a list of available vaccines while he held a clip board with a signup sheet. He was offering: Covid/Flu Shingles Pneumonia Hepatitis A & B RSV Tdap Meningitis HiB HPV Tetanus When I replied thank you, but no thank you..... He smiled & nodded, then said if I transferred my Prescriptions, I could get the dozen doughnuts as a thank you also. I took a deep breath & smiled. I thanked him again & said, " I don't have any Prescriptions to transfer." He said, "we can call your Dr & have them transferred." Still smiling....I said, "There's none to transfer sir." He appeared puzzled & clarified, "you're not on any meds? Can I ask how old you are?" I shared, "I used to take more than 15 Medications, but I've healed those conditions. And of course you can ask, I am 54." He hesitated a few seconds & finally said, "I've never met anyone our age on no Meds, I'm on 5." Smiling I said, "Glad I am your first & I hope I'm not your last." "Meds only caused side effects for me, never healed anything." I went on to the Meat Dept & I heard him start his "free doughnuts for vaccines" speech again with the next customer coming through the entrance.
