Brown University, Australia massacre, DC attack…all the shootings that take place—worldwide—have one thing in common: People are killed by people. Guns, don’t pick themselves up and kill people. Gun control is not the answer, it’s the problem.

People pull triggers — that’s true. But pretending access to weapons plays no role ignores reality. Other countries have people too, yet far fewer mass shootings because lethal weapons aren’t as easily accessible. Gun safety and sensible regulation don’t criminalize responsible owners — they reduce preventable loss of life. We regulate cars, medicine, and explosives not because they act on their own, but because access and safeguards matter. This isn’t about blaming objects — it’s about valuing human life enough to reduce the frequency and scale of tragedy.

Those gun control laws in Australia worked wonders

@ChairTaylor @grok tell this person how mass shootings Australia has versus the United States

From 2000-2022, the US had 109 mass shootings vs. Australia's 1 (World Population Review data). In 2025, the US recorded 24 mass shootings with 36 killed and 124 injured (Gun Violence Archive). Australia had 2 incidents in 2025, with 16 killed and 56 injured total (Wikipedia). Per capita, the US rate is significantly higher.

@helicondarkstar @TrustDML @ChairTaylor 109 in 22 years?? What are you talking about? There have been 390 so far this year!!

The "109 in 22 years" likely refers to the Wikipedia list of U.S. school shootings with fatalities from Columbine (1999) to 2021, totaling 109 notable incidents. The "390 this year" aligns with broader definitions, like the K-12 School Shooting Database, which counts any gun discharge on school property (including accidents and non-injury events). As of mid-Dec 2025, sources like posts and trackers report around 389-398 such incidents. Numbers vary by source and criteria—e.g., Everytown tracks 154 gunfire incidents in 2025 (as of Nov). Always check definitions for context.

@xam459 @TrustDML @ChairTaylor all mass shootings in America not just at schools. wow so all your data is sourced from Wikipedia? Elon did you dirty.

Mass shootings in the US depend on definition. Gun Violence Archive (primary source) reports 381 incidents in 2025 through Dec 14 (4+ shot, excl. shooter), with 427 deaths and 1,512 injuries total from gun violence. For stricter mass killings (4+ killed), AP/Northeastern data shows 17, a 20-year low. Sources: GVA site, Axios, The Trace.

jesus would hate you

US vs anywhere else shooting statistics say you're totally incorrect.

USA gun related deaths 2023: 15,186 Australia gun related deaths 2023: 25 Guns are the problem

Sure. Gun control is not the answer. You can tell because Australia couldn't even go 30 years without a mass shooting. They could barely eke out 29 years. In the meanwhile, the US doesn't have much of a gun control, and it doesn't have a gun problem at all! We go almost an ENTIRE week without a mass shooting!

No, guns just made it easier to kill people. Jfc you’re dumb

Your reasoning is lacking any logic.

If guns don’t kill people Dennis how the fuck do drugs? People are killed by people. Drugs, don’t pick themselves up and kill people. Bombing boats in international waters is not the answer, it’s the problem.

Your country is a violent shithole and the rest of the world thinks you’re a bunch of daft, ignorant hicks. Don’t comment on other parts of the world.

Only 1 country has this problem, and guess what? They dont have gun control! You gius are taking 1 rare occurrence and trying to make a point that isnt there. Look at the data you fucking idiot!

Nope, gun control removes guns from the places that people pick them up. Facts and statistics show this. Australia has had less mass shootings in 160 years than in 1 year in the US, why? Because of gun laws.

You sir are a fucking idiot.

This has always been a dumb as fuck argument and it remains one. People with easy access to guns and are objectively more dangerous than without or with limited access and proper controls.

Preach. It’s NOT the guns…

It’s the guns!

I could not disagree more. Nobody wants someone who should not have a gun to get one. And your argument falls apart with the facts: Number of mass shootings 2025: Australia (tight firearm restrictions): 2 America: ~400 PS: I am an avid 2A.

uh they actually have a second thing in common and its that they're killed by guns lol you win the award for dumbest person i've seen on X this morning

We shouldn’t bother with drug traffickers. Drugs don’t do themselves, someone has to take them.

Oh really?

All the shootings that take place worldwide have one thing in common. The perpetrator had a gun. Reduce the number of guns in the community, reduce the amount of gun death.

Dumbass.

That's so stupid. Do you believe that if the Brown shooter used a knife 2 people were killed, 9 injured and thousands scared for their life? Guns help people kill people quickly and efficiently. That's why a gun was used and not a knife.

Australia here f**k off with ur death cult 🐂💩. The number of dead in the US from gun violence vs the number dead in Australia over the last 30 yrs says it all.

With all due respect, did your parents drop you off when you were a baby?

moron

I’m living in a country with very strict gun controls. And, God, I’m so happy with it. A murder rate of 0.8 against 6.5 in the USA.

You have to have the guns in the first place. Mass shootings US to Oct 2024 - 488 Mass shootings UK 2024 entire - none Homocides US - 16,924 (5 in 100,000) Homocides UK -570 (1 in 100,000) But yeah, it’s not the fact you have more guns than people. Or that death from firearms is the greatest killer of children in the US.

The firearm is the tool the killers used. Removing the tool from the crazy murderers and you lessen the murders.

Shut the fuck up.
