12 Monkeys is an excellent sci-fi film that tackles time travel intelligently while also giving way to great performances from two of my favorite actors ever- Brad Pitt & Bruce Willis. This nabbed Pitt his first Oscar nom, deservedly so given the things Pitt pulls off here.

Man, it's so heartwrenching that Bruce Willis might not even remember he was one of the all-time greatest action stars. The guy gave us Die Hard, Pulp Fiction, The Fifth Element - pure badass energy for decades - and now he's fading away like that. It just hits different knowing a legend like him might not even recall the iconic moments he created. Really puts everything in perspective.

Billy Bob Thornton doesn’t really get the credit he deserves as an actor. He’s got a lot of range if you think about it & look back at his career. Here he is next to the late Bill Paxton in A Simple Plan, a film I can’t say enough good things about. I love this fucking movie man.

Quentin Tarantino says Bruce Willis originally wanted to play Vincent or Jules in Pulp Fiction before he convinced him to take the role of Butch. Tom Segura : “How was casting? Bruce Willis is so great in the film. Was it an immediate yes from him?” Quentin Tarantino : “We weren’t even going out to Bruce Willis.” “At the time, he was one of the biggest movie stars in the world.” Tom Segura : “When you first watch the film, it’s almost shocking. You’re like, ‘Bruce Willis is in this?’” Quentin Tarantino: “Absolutely.” “One day he told me, ‘I read your script. Looper is a great film. Full stop. Not only is this one of the last great performances from Bruce Willis, this is one of the best science fiction films of the century. I said it and I stand by it. I also thought JGL’s career would take off from this moment but it never happened.

Tender Mercies won Robert Duvall his only #Oscar. This movie means so much to me because of Duvall’s performance. He’s brilliant. Duvall cuts open his heart & lays it on the table for the audience to see. He could not be better in this film. Duvall cared. He will be missed. RIP.

Quentin Tarantino wrote Butch in Pulp Fiction for Matt Dillon, but Dillon was unsure about the part. Tarantino needed another big-name actor alongside Harvey Keitel to get the film financed. Luckily, he was able to cast Bruce Willis in the role, he explains how. “We weren’t going out to Bruce Willis. Especially at that time, he was one of the top five, maybe even top three biggest stars in the world - He was definitely popular in America, but you go to Korea or somewhere like that - he was the man. What happened was, I originally wrote the part for Matt Dillon, because Matt Dillon was a fan of my script for Reservoir Dogs. The deal with Miramax was that we had an ensemble cast, but we needed at least one, if not two, Miramax-approved actors. After that, I could cast anybody I wanted, as long as there was somebody they considered a name that they could sell. Matt Dillon fell into the category of names they would accept. So I wrote it for Matt, and it seemed like getting him would be easy. But he read it and he wasn’t so sure. He liked it, but he was disturbed by the fact that you never actually see Butch boxing. He said, “I want to see the fight.” And maybe he didn’t one hundred percent get it. Also, he didn’t want to play that part. He wanted to play Vincent - that happened a lot. Any time I offered somebody a part, they wanted to play somebody else. So Matt didn’t say no, but he didn’t say yes. He still had to think about it. That was a little scary, because I thought I had him in the bag. With him, I had a go movie. Then all of a sudden, I didn’t have such a go movie anymore. Harvey Keitel, who's in the movie - he was one of the guys - so I had him. He was he was shooting in town. When he was shooting in town, he'd usually rent a house in Malibu. And so he would invite friends to come over for the weekend and hang out. And so I came over and I'm hanging out at Harvey's place. And then, well, it turns out that Bruce Willis was only living about three or four or five houses down the way. OK. And so I come over to Harvey's - and there's Bruce Willis. (1/2)

Forrest Gump beat Pulp Fiction, Quiz Show and The Shawshank Redemption for the #Oscar for Best Picture back in 1995. I would rank Gump 4th out of this list of films. It’s a good movie, but to win over Pulp Fiction? Overall, this was a loaded, special year for cinema.

there’s an important detail in lando’s austria move that really shows how clever he is behind the wheel. on a straight he switches the drs off for a split second, on purpose, so he doesn’t get too far ahead of oscar. if he’s fully ahead, he’s vulnerable to a switchback. that kind of awareness is exactly why this overtake deserves the win. to vote for lando, simply comment ‘lando norris’ under fia’s post!

This is by far one of the best interviews from Bruce Flatt, Brookfield’s CEO. During the interview, the reporter asked him if we are in a bubble and he immediately broke character, saying we are not. He explained that the majority of these companies have better credit ratings than most countries, plenty of cash, and are making long-term investments.
