Btw here is how I would do this set. Notice how I’m slowing down considerably in the last few reps. That’s how you know you’re getting close to failure. I also took a rest between legs because my CNS was shot and would have been a worse set on... show more

Nervous system actually shot

padded underwear got y'all gagging. Hysterical. 🤣🤦🏾

For anyone who is watching this and actually seeking correct advice on lifting, training to failure is not required to gain muscle strength or size and could actually be somewhat detrimental because increased fatigue. See

Notice I said close to failure

The studies show it isn’t even really close to failure, either. No meaningful difference between 50 to 75% set and set close to failure for muscle growth. Hypertrophy occurs after stimulation, which happens much less than at failure. Study after study consistently shows this.

Respectfully this is completely false. Multiple meta analyses show proximity to failure being critical to hypertrophy. the premiere hypertrophy expert Brad schoenfelds work also shows this. Either cite a more reputable/recent meta analysis or shut up

Study showed the opposite And in the studies you are talking about the extra hypertrophy gains are likely attributable to overall volume rather than going to failure. See where equalized RT volumes produced no difference.

Well now the studies you’ve just cited talk about non failure in the 1-3 RIR range not the 50-75% to failure, which still supports my point that close to failure is important. And the recent meta I shared adjusted for the method of volume equating among other factors

The study I’m citing had participants stop based on estimated feeling of muscle fatigue even when they knew they had maximally more reps. That’s where the 50-75 number comes from. Furthermore, nature of meta is that the studies used multiple methods for non-failure.

As far as volume being accounted for in this new meta, I’d be skeptical and I’m curious how they proposed to do that, but I’ll take your word for it as my institution doesn’t have this article. The bottom line is that the picture is far from as clear as you try and make it seem.

Whew! 🥵🥵🥵

Props to you. A lot of other obese guys with huge guts like this would struggle to do this exercise. You even make it look easy.

rep slowdown as the failure tell is underrated. most people call it at rpe 7 thinking it's 9 because the bar still moves fast. the cns rest between sides is the part nobody does

Ass

How much weight is that?

You technically don’t need to lift a lot for hypertrophy to occur. Your butt is really tasty though.

Where are the shoes from? Kinda weird for me still when I see such high top shoes in the gym.

Sexy big juicy booty!!! 🤩🤩😛😛

Damn, those glutes 🤤

❤️🔥📈😍🙇🏻♂️🔥
