this is industry-standard EULA language and all three console manufacturers have this in their license agreements and have had it there since (at least) the xbox 360 era; it's not exclusive to switch 2

Thank you for clarification, then I fully extend my statement that I will not buy another console from either of the companies. The last console I have bought outright was the PSP which was 10 years ago, I own a Switch and a PS5 that were gifted to me and for future gens I will most likely not partake. Because regardless of company, bricking a console because of modding is extremely stupid. Again, online play revoked is one thing, this is another.

Yeah, that's why I never bothered with buying any consoles in over a decade. I felt back then that it wasn't worth the money and I feel even more so now with how the companies actively screw over the customers who do buy it.

Will say the only thing that has made owning a console worth it is the PC performance since if you use a capture card you can stream games easier with significantly less PC impact. But aside that and shit exclusives, no reason to own a modern day console.

With the Pokémon ordeal, especially my favorite feature of any video game, flying by holding onto a creature has been patented, which means no other video game can do this ever again because of Nintendo. Nintendo is currently the Cancer of the gaming industry.
