Handling the moldy ones and then handling the good tops could spread the mold to them.

Stupid to touch them with the same gloves.. 😭😭😂😂

Dew got it. Have to cover them in late season to stop dew coverage in the morning

Purple in general is a genetic trait that reacts to nights coolness. So the purple reacts at night when it gets cool while the greens just rot

Genetics are why one tolerates the conditions better than the other. Cold damp mornings will get you. I would harvest now, you can still cut most of the rot out. It takes botrytis 3 days or so to produce spores

I think if I harvested the green ones early it would've worked out no mold.

Thats how you find some highly resistant strains and you can feel comfortable running them in adverse conditions each year. Add that purps to the list. 🙂

Purple phenos often dodge late-season mold better because they stay a bit more open and airflow better once nights cool. Dense green plants trap moisture first, so drainage and canopy management matter more than color alone. What strains are you running that hold up outdoors?

Spoiler. The mold Is on all of them. It’s only a matter of time.

I find strains with purple genetic traits are much more resilient than those that aren’t purple, not sure why tbh

Never known colour to have anything to do with that, the purple just means the root zone is colder than it should be so phosphorous uptake is affected

anthocyanins in the purp possess anti fungal properties

That is weird. All I have are purple ones, and no mold. In past years I have gotten mold, and now that I think about it, they were not purple. Maybe you're onto something there.

i notcied that to this year with 2 genetics i grew, the purple one did not mould at all, the green one however was moulding at the end of the season, plants that produce purple defo are hardier plants.

What you sound AI 😂

Not sure if you already do but just in case, if it rains or if there's a lot of early morning precipitation, you needa shake the whole plant from the main stalk to prevent moisture soaking into center of nugs eventually causing mold. I've seen people use leaf blowers as well

Count my losses and switch to indoors. I know it's a bigger expense but you'll have a lot less mold happening

Also depends heavily on the strain. Had 3 greens of 3 different strains next to each other and 2 got powdery mildew but the one in the middle had zero. They were all touching each other.

Poor drainage my friend

don't spread from a rotten one to a good one; it's on your gloves! quick dry a lower bud and test, if it's working, harvest while you still can! good luck!

Poke some pieces of copperwire into the center of the bud. The copper wont allow any mold.

Odpowiedzi jest prosta. Ale nie oddam 25lat doświadczenia w poście.

I'd also touch the moldy plants and then touch the healthy ones immediately after

Gotta be bud structure nuance, or air flows, not anthocyanins. Me? I’m not dropping on the ground, im extracting gently to mitigate spore dispersion. Or I’m accelerating harvest of clean. Frankly, if dropping whole to abandon, I’d be bagging instead to contain spore spread

This is why it is better to grow proven strains outdoors. Better yet, to grow proven phenotypes from clones. From my experience, airy-fluffy buds have more mold problems. The same seed cross can yield 10 different phenotypes and only one or two worth keeping.🤷🏻♂️

cbd detected following. here's my SSC i grew. It also turned purple

I would just give it to me honestly

The many rows look so beautiful to me, hope you have more purples than green. 👍

Different DNA means different susceptibility

Maybe the purple collects more sunlight and dries the flower quicker after rain storms? Maybe green intakes too much water? I want to know now lol

Possible the rot is harder to see on the purple..might all be be moldy

Purple ones have a way better terpene profile to beat mold. What is the aroma like of those 2 phenotypes?

i grew purple one year and the thing i noticed was rot was very hard to see.
