Maybe we could try even more shortcuts on building homes and see how that goes

I have never seen anyone using that here in Germany. Maybe, there are people using that, but probably only few.

This aint replacing brick and mortar. Mortar being mixed on site is good because it means you can mix what you need and specifically how much you need. Also its going to fall apart- note how you didnt put any down the sides of the bricks; 1) Its not sealed 2) Its not bonded

What a load of nonsense! Stop trying to replace bricks and mortar! It’s a tried and tested method that lasts hundreds of years! 🤦🏼‍♂️

They will do anything to avoid using organic material like stone or rammed earth. Rammed earth is superior in nearly any way, while costing much less.

Sounds good. The only problem is that it requires very precisely and uniformly manufactured stones, since these slabs, unlike mortar, can't compensate for any inaccuracies. From my own experience I know that stones like the ones shown are anything but manufactured with sufficient uniformity and accuracy.

It has been around since 2015 and haven't taken off. But as a dyier I would love this to do a small job like a garden edging, a bbq or a post. The extra cost of the product would be offset by the ease of its use for a dyi job.

seems a good idea on saving waste but the mix looks way too thin. i would not trust it

how's the vertical side bonding?

@OmaniaCoin No way these fags are faster laying out their mortar tiles. Also doesn’t bond to the brick, no mortar on the vertical joints either

Traditional mortar is a thing of the past in Poland! 🇵🇱 We’ve been using cellular concrete and adhesive for ages now. Modern, fast, and efficient.

So what do they put BETWEEN the bricks? without mortar in the gaps that structure will be weak and prone to failure. Also i agree, that will only work with very specific bricks.

Has brickwork therefore become more cost-effective, no, the labour cost per ² will increase to premium. That's the issue with housing cost no one talks about, it's not just banks inflating, it's spoiled and entitled tradesmen and greedy suppliers, just the same if not more.

This looks really good, but the blocks could be more insulated.

Construction site leader here 🫡 , usually these type of bricks are glued together with a very thin type of mortar , stop spreading nonsense nobody replaced anything, this is just an alternative

Wtf you talking about. I'm in Germany and I'm pretty sure 95% of the builders still mix mortar. And only like 5 % would use something like this. Complete bots posting crap and not knowing anything 😂

You can see there is no consistancy between the water and the panel. It is not a specific amount and those horzontal joints will not remain secure.

Mortar pads have been available for at least 10 years. However, they are significantly more expensive than mixed mortar. This more expensive alternative, similar to filled bricks, is not very widely used.

А вертикальні шви хто заповнюватиме, дятел. За таке будівництво потрібно гнати будівельників обісцяними ганчірками.

wydaje mi się, że pod względem spoinowym raczej będzie słabsze niż klasyczne nakładanie zaprawy

I like the bricks. Looks like a high r-value. All those channels lock in the mortar. It does look pretty sweet. I'd rather drag a case of these up a ladder with a hose than bags/buckets. How long you got to let the pads hydrate? What about butt joints?
