On Aug. 28, at the direction of #SOUTHCOM Commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, and in coordination and collaboration with the Government of Ecuador, Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere (JTF-WHEM) successfully interdicted a vessel operating as a floating refueling station in support of illicit at-sea drug trafficking operations in international waters of the Eastern Pacific. Intelligence confirmed the vessel, previously identified and targeted under Department of the Treasury sanctions, was operating in support of the Los Choneros violent narco-terrorist organization. U.S. Marines and Sailors, launched from USS San Antonio (LPD 17), interdicted, boarded, searched, and cleared the vessel without incident. Individuals removed from the vessel were safely escorted to Ecuador. Once cleared, U.S. forces sank the vessel. This interdiction cuts off a critical node in the traffickers' logistics chain and advances the goals of the Americas Counter Cartel Coalition (A3C) and JTF-WHEM to dismantle narco-terrorist networks. The Department of War 🇺🇸 and the A3C remain unwavering in their mission to defeat narco-terrorists in the Western Hemisphere and defend our homeland. "Today's operation is a stark example of the Americas Counter Cartel Coalition's power to dismantle the sophisticated, clandestine narco-terrorist tactics and capabilities that have enabled the trafficking of dangerous drugs destined for American communities. Working together with our Ecuadorian partners, our coalition dealt a decisive blow to a narco-terrorist operation responsible for moving significant amounts of drugs through the region. Together with our regional partners, we are committed to defeating narco-terrorists in the Western Hemisphere." - #SOUTHCOM Commander Gen. Francis L. 🚨🇺🇦🤖 Ukraine is developing SPECTR, an AI-powered system designed to analyze battlefield data and support military operational planning. The platform is being built by A1, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s artificial intelligence center, and its solutions are already being tested by several combat units. SPECTR will analyze information, identify patterns, generate recommendations for operational planning and military processes, and automate routine headquarters work. A1 says Ukraine possesses a unique archive of modern warfare data that can now be turned into a battlefield advantage. According to A1 chief Danylo Tsvok, the goal is effectively to create an “operating system for warfare” that helps commanders evaluate possible courses of action and anticipate an opponent’s likely moves. 🔥 A1 was established in March with British support as part of Ukraine’s push toward an AI-driven military. The broader objective goes beyond SPECTR itself: faster data-based decision-making, greater integration of AI into military systems, and less bureaucracy across the armed forces.

More mission miles than the circumference of the Earth. Anduril's autonomous undersea vehicles have accumulated over 40,100km and 6350hrs of mission time. There's no substitute for live ops. Only by proving, breaking, and hardening our systems in real operational conditions can we deliver technology that performs reliably when it matters most.

ANDURIL GHOST-X PARTNERSHIP We continue to seek out emerging technology to enhance our operational capabilities and better serve our community. Recently, we hosted a live demonstration of the Ghost-X, an advanced unmanned aircraft system (UAS) designed to expand operational capabilities. This man-portable, autonomous, expeditionary platform allows, extended range and multi -payload adaptability for complex environments. Developed as a dual-use and modular UAS platform, we are exploring the opportunity to adapt this technology for public safety use in partnership with Anduril Industries . Training with this aircraft is scheduled to begin next month. As shown in the video, the aircraft is ruggedized and weather resistant, built to enhance situational awareness and mission flexibility in the challenging conditions we encounter. Stay tuned as we continue to evaluate and improve safety, efficiency, and response capabilities. Contact: Captain Shawn Millerick, Public Information Officer Smillerick@sbcfire.org
