I agree and on that note i want to add that even though AI can write code for you, you'll still find yourself having to do less fun tasks in the project and still have to solve problems

I don’t think AI makes you lazy, if anything it makes you do bigger things and helps you dream of even bigger things

You can't forget how to code if you never learned how to code to begin with. Remember that

I see where you're coming from but also think that there are ways to take on increasingly complex tasks without adding artificial complexity by doing things the slow way. With that said, I learned to code before AI so I'm not sure if that applies at all levels/in all situations.

Finally, someone who gets it. Please let young devs know that using it too much isn’t leveraging again, it’s now dependency. Imagine not being able to initiate a new project because AI automates that every time

I use AI for everything, and if a solution does not exist, I create it. The solution is simple, be more ambitious with what you're doing with it. If you just use it to write emails or straightforward things, of course you're not going to be cognitively challenged.

It’s the same with every muscle. What you don’t use, atrophies. The expression “Use it or lose it.” has merit.

I dunno hey ... the frustration & tedium of hand-coding was such a motivation-killer for me.

Agree, i have plenty of experience with software development and at a point i was unemployed and needed to do the classic DSA test, and as i become used to do really complex things as a technical leader i forgot how to do the easier things like this DSA, i failed but i was aware.

I build tolerance for embarrassing myself by plugging my poetry everywhere For example

I agree 👏 same principle applies to reading books: I motivate myself to keep my mind active, otherwise, in the long run I'll just become an idiot
