His message, delivered in Kinyarwanda, reflected deep frustration with the international community’s silence regarding the persecution of Congolese Tutsis. In the videos below, Nsengiyera John describes the suffering endured by Congolese Tutsi refugees living in camps for nearly three decades. Today, in 2025, the young Nsengiyera John is reportedly on the front lines with #M23, saying he is defending his rights after feeling abandoned by the international community — just as many felt in 1994 during the genocide against the Tutsis in Rwanda. In the DRC, Congolese Tutsis have been lynched, burned, and subjected to horrific violence by individuals claiming to defend the country's territorial integrity against so-called “Tutsi invaders.” At the same time, the Congolese government has mobilized, reorganized, and armed armed groups hostile to Tutsis, who continue to carry out systematic attacks against Congolese Tutsi communities in both rural and urban areas. The Somali senator, who is well informed, has confirmed that Al-Shabaab terrorists are at the gates of #Mogadishu and that many evicted youths in the capital are being recruited by the militant group. He warned that after Somaliland’s breakaway in 1991, Puntland and Jubaland could follow suit unless Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is stopped—a warning he directed at politicians in coming from #Mogadishu. Faroole further confirmed that Al-Shabaab’s real-estate investments are expanding in Mogadishu and that money laundering has reached alarming levels in the Somali capital.

We will absolutely target you, go after you, if you are targeting anyone with hate speech.” -> You should not go after people for hate speech! Hate speech should be legal! I personally thinking there is one exception, if your position is government funded and requires neutrality, for example teachers … they absolutely should not teach and express public opinions in that category.

In 1981, the Congolese government stripped citizenship from the entire Kinyarwanda-speaking community, and since then, the DRC has aligned with Habyarimana’s regime in its campaign to exterminate the Tutsi people. Today, the Canadian government is being misled into repeating history by targeting those who fled persecution from the DRC—a country that has persecuted and displaced hundreds of thousands of Congolese Tutsi. The regime of Tshisekedi, now failing on all fronts, has resorted to paying Congolese individuals in Ottawa to push this agenda. But Canada is well aware of who these frappeurs really are. Without an honest comprehensive internal process that addresses security and governance challenges, the DRC will not be at peace. Even without M23, the DRC suffers from an ineffective government, with more than 100 rebel groups preying on ordinary civilians.
