I assumed he was using gangle as a stand in for himself honestly. It’s easy to see him reflexting given their diametrically opposite in the game world. I assumed irl maybe he was softer and it got him bullied or something and so he just hardened himself up became a jackass.

referring to what i heard on a stream, i think when ragatha says "not anymore" she's talking about herself, but jax thinks she's talking about ribbit, which becomes more apparent when she tries to make herself clear.
