Burgum: "AI will take jobs away, like software development, because AI can write code. But AI can't wire a building, do plumbing. Kids go into the trades today -- they're all gonna be making $150,000."

Ah yes, the plumber-to-millionaire pipeline. Truly visionary stuff.

Unless you work on a Trump property, then you'll get stiffed.

They keep pushing this go into trades thing as if suddenly having a million new plumbers and electricians isn’t going to cause a surplus and scarcity for work when you’re underbidding the next guy because there’s not enough work to go around.

In 10 years when these kids graduate with a trade, that $150 grand will still keep them unable to buy a home and barely getting by.

fucking idiot. if everyone has to transition to blue collar bozo plumber, then there's a glut of plumbers and wages shrink. does anyone in this administration understand basic economics at all?

Who’s gonna tell him there won’t be that many building too .. if everything is automated

I’ll believe in when Barron signs up to be an HVAC apprentice.

Billionaires speculating on what occurs in real jobs is something else.

The wealthy aren’t telling their kids to be plumbers.

There are two levels of education. The elites will continue to get degrees while they tell everyone else to become a trades person. All due respect to those with those skills, but ask yourself why? It's because they want critical thinking skills low while you work for them.
