This field produced 700 lbs of lentils / acre last year , so hardly any stubble . Not worked . Will be seeded to durum this year.

Plow down all the trees, drain all the low spots, and wonder why the snow all blows away and there’s no surface moisture … this will fix it. Yes, I spent decades farming, not a city guy. But still looking forward to all the hater comments.

A guy did this to a couple quarters by tisdale to trap snow or snowmobiles last winter. Not enough snow to do that this year.

Leave a test strip. I’m sure he’s worried about getting to the field in first week of April because they get no sun and heat in southern Alberta

Both....but I'd that causes it to stay put for an extra week or two it may be well worth it

creating compaction layer. Roots won’t go through. Be a hell of a nice drag strip for the snowmobile in a couple days. Even will have lanes where the ridge is.

Probably more environmentally friendly than the MB farmer that was burning snow off his fields many years ago.
