Bus stops should not have anything speeding past them as doors open … Pavements or cycle lanes should be free from speeding bikes, scooters ect …. This is a classic example of what happens … I’ve seen it first hand …

The phrase "an accident waiting to happen" was invented for this absolutely stupid layout. Wherever they exist, they should be ripped out or redesigned. Absolute stupidity.

How planners ever committed to these ridiculous 'floating' stops is beyond me. (I know this isn't one, but we've BUILT these in to our cities now)

This is a shared pavement. And a clip from 2019. Not even in the UK. Cycle tracks and floating bus stops are a big improvement on this arrangement, because they separate cyclists and pedestrians on the footway, and formalise the crossing of the cycle track.

Redesign bus doors to open outwards like car doors, the problem would solve itself pretty quickly 🤣

Just ban cyclists on the pavements …..or make them hold compulsory licenses and insurance on certain roads and areas Or better still Ban cyclists all together ‼️
