@lydia_massiah @_BTO A very good animation, which illustrates this shocking decline, which I have seen with my own 2 eyes as I've had a deep interest in the natural world throughout this whole period. Even more shocking is that there had already been huge declines, before 1970. 1/2

@_BTO Growing up in the 1950s and 60s I remember great flocks of lapwing in the East Midlands.

@_BTO Huge increase in biomass of non native Pheasant released into countryside each year for sport. Spreading disease and eating invertebrates and small vertebrates.
