Tim Allen at 73 still doing vocal training for Buzz is actually legendary.

To infinity and beyond… his vocal cords 😭 This man has been Buzz Lightyear longer than most of us have been alive and he's STILL putting in the work. Respect.

Ché3 months ago

Crazy thing is he doesn't look like he's gotten any older

Since they have the OG voice actor and over a 100 tapes of his recording, can't they just let him record and auto tune it with AI or something to what it's supposed to actually sound like?

So we give a fuck about toy story being accurate but not Shrek. Embarrassing honestly

Woody has been given a beer belly and "balding" yet Tim Allen doesn't want to sound old? Hmmm.....

Michael3 months ago

One of the funniest Toy Story factoids I’ve ever heard is that Tom Hanks’s brother does almost all the voice lines for 3rd party products (games, dolls, etc.) so anytime you hear woody outside of a movie scene, it’s his brother.

Hot take: Anything after the third movie should not have happened.

@lonewolfgamer30 Glad they didn't let political differences change who played Buzz. Tim Allen deserves the credit all these years later.

Tim Allen is one of the old guys in history that im just glad to see still kicking. Him Jackie chan, and Dick Van Dyke. Weird combo of people but I've never had a reason to dislike these guys. I'm sure there are more but those 3 come to mind.

I too sound like Tim Allen when I use my voice lazily.

Buzz Lightyear getting voice-relessoning in 2026 is the most relatable thing I’ve heard all year We all out here aging but still trying to sound 25

Did you know that Buzz was originally called Tempus from Morph? And that hollywoodd stars rejected the role before Allen agreed? 🌚 Have a short read, I explained the back story. Cheers 🥂 😅

In before everyone says they thought Buzz was VA'd by George Clooney.

All these times i was so sure he was voiced by george clooney, tf?

Just like the Simpsons: Homer’s VA currently sounds the exactly like Gabe Simpson (grandpa)

Pixar wanted Billy Crystal to voice Buzz Lightyear in TOY STORY (1995). They even created a proof of concept using audio from WHEN HARRY MET SALLY… (1989) to convince him, but Crystal still turned it down. The role eventually went to Tim Allen.

In Toy Story (1995), Tom Hanks and Tim Allen recorded together in the same studio. And Allen “literally almost broke,” character when Tom Hanks “went to a different level” during one scene and “started screaming.” Tim Allen said “but I had to stay in the ‘Buzz’ zone.”

SORRY TO RUIN YOUR DAY 💔 • Toy Story 2 (1999): Buster was introduced as an energetic, playful puppy. Assuming he's less than a year old, he was likely born in 1998 or 1999. • Toy Story 3 (2010): About 10 years later, Buster returns as an elderly dog. His muzzle has turned grey, he's slower, heavier, and spends most of his time sleeping. At around 11–12 years old, he's officially a senior. • Toy Story 4 (2019): The story takes place only a year or two after Andy leaves for college, making Buster around 13–14 years old. While dachshunds can sometimes live to 15 or 16, Buster was already showing clear signs of old age in Toy Story 3. It's strongly implied that by the events of Toy Story 4, he has likely passed away. • Toy Story 5: With the new film taking place roughly three years later and Bonnie now around 8 years old, Buster would be well over 20 years old. For a dachshund, that's extraordinarily unlikely. Sadly, it's almost certain that the lovable puppy who once helped Woody on his adventures is no longer with us. Some childhood memories really do grow old with us.

I don't see anyone talk about these Woody and Buzz interviews done for both Toy Story 1 & 2. They are pretty fun! Pat Fraley voiced Buzz on the first 2 and last interviews while Tim Allen reprised him on the 3rd interview. Jim Hanks voices Woody in all of them.

In Toy Story 5 Buzz Lightyear got married wearing a dress. He walked down the aisle as his bride waited for him up at the altar, placed a diamond ring on his finger, swept him off his feet, and he blushed like a girl. All carefully designed propaganda to feminize our boys.

Zurg being revealed as an alternate Buzz Lightyear instead of Buzz’s father has to be one of the worst plot twists I’ve ever seen. It threw away decades of Toy Story lore for a twist that landed with a thud.
