Muftis in Turkey are appointed by the state and muftis in Greece are appointed by the state.

There is NO Turkish minority in W. Thrace. There is a Muslim minority; the majority of which are roma (gypsies), then Pomaks (Muslim Bulgarians) and then the Turkish speaking in the cities. They have great freedom by all means.

My dear Emete, are you aware that Turkey also imposes restrictions on the Greek Orthodox community in Istanbul? Under current Turkish law, only Turkish citizens can serve as members of the Patriarchate’s Holy Synod and be elected Patriarch, and candidates must hold Turkish citizenship before the vote. This has been criticised as state interference in the internal affairs of the Orthodox Church. So if we are talking about principles of religious freedom and autonomy, we should be consistent and avoid hypocrisy. 😘

Muftis are not elected in any Muslim country. Turkey's dictator is trying to impose his rule over Greece after he imprisoned all his rivals and some trols are eager to help him. According to the Lausanne agreement the minority is Greece is of Greek citizens and Turkey better stop
